how to hole a coconut shell button

every button needs a hole to run a thread trough, basically two holes or more. coconut buttons too need to be holed in the same manner. to hole a coconut button we'll need a drill with a small dril pin. the size of the hole should be only enough for a thread to go through. big holes will make the button unnecesrily difficult to cope with.

piercing process is very easy. only thing you need is a drill to make the hole. after the buttons are made, cut, shaped and polished the next step is the piercing. you can pierce the buttons after the polishing or before the polishing.

although the piercing is easy it might be dangers too for the users who are not familiar with these tools. so always keep remeber the safety first theory.

as i said before if you are not familiar with these tools be caefull when using them. to ease the task we can use a bench vise to hold the button tight so that our hands will not ended up being holed.

place the button in the bench vise and adjust it until it get hold tightly. then choose a small drill pin suit for the hole you are going to make on your buttton. after that pierce the button. be carefull about the distance between the piercing.

like that you can simply pierce your buttons. you can pierce in to two holes o four holes. as this is a miniature work and hand work you need extra care of your safety.
